Meet the Assistant Provider/Teachers
Laura Bartyllo
- Laura, 20 years old, is a student at Madison College completing
her Associate Degree in Business Management.
- In addition to her plentiful babysitting and nannying experience, Laura
has previously assisted at a child care home in northern Wisconsin and was a TA for kindergarteners while she was in high school.
- Laura also works in the children's room at the Princeton Club in
Madison.
- Laura is a high-energy, can-do person. She is cheerful, patient, and creative when caring for little ones.
- Laura likes working with young children because "it makes my heart warm. I like seeing them grow!"
Maggie Kinney
- Maggie, 22 years old, recently graduated from Edgewood College with a Child Life Major. Maggie will pursue a graduate degree this fall.
- Maggie has many years of nannying experience. She currently works at UW Children's Hospital for an internship.
- She also works as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Meriter Hospital.
- Maggie is patient, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and dedicated when working with little ones. We're grateful she is going to grad school in Madison and can work with us this fall.
Joan Mrkvicka
- Joan enjoyed being a 5-star licensed and accredited child care provider for over 25 years. She is now retired and we're lucky to have her work with us as both an Assistant and a Lead Provider.
- She has a Bachelor of Science degree and two Early Childhood credentials.
- Joan is patient, calm, and empathetic. She places priority on a child's perspective and is skilled at conflict resolution and problem solving.
- Joan likes working with young children because "they're funny. I think I'm a kid at heart too. I like to watch children exploring their environment, especially nature."
Amanda Schlimgen
- Amanda started helping us in the fall of 2017 as an intern at UW-Madison majoring in Human Development & Family Studies. She also completed her Nursing Degree in 2019.
- She worked for us as a child care assistant and she's now a Lead Provider.
- Amanda has many years of nannying, teaching, and caregiver experience.
- She likes working with young children because "it's fun to watch them grow and learn!"
- Amanda is cheerful, kind, observant, and calm when working with young children!
Katelyn Schlimgen
- Katelyn, 21 years old, has been accepted to the Nursing Program at UW-Oshkosh.
- Katelyn is a Certified Nursing Assistant.
- She has lots of nannying and babysitting experience.
- Katelyn is patient, intentional, organized, kind, and fair when caring for little ones.
- She likes working with young children because "they're fun. I like watching them grow!"
Sophie Smith
- From Belleville, 22-year-old Sophie has many years of nannying and babysitting experience.
- She worked for 4 years at Grace Church Daycare, caring for infants through age 7, and at the church's Sunday nursery.
- Sophie is a weekly caregiver for youngest siblings of Verona Home Schoolers Classical Conversation events (infants through age 5).
- Sophie is certified in CPR.
- She is dedicated, kind, loving, and patient when working with young children.
- Sophie likes working with young children because "they are sweet, innocent little people!"
