Assistant Provider/Teacher Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
Assist in the care and educational programming of eight (8) or fewer children ranging in ages from 6 weeks to 5 years. Duties include all of the following:
- reading to one of more children
- working through conflict and instituting age and/or developmentally appropriate positive guidance techniques
- monitoring children and maintaining safe, quality early childhood programming, both indoors and outdoors, for a group of 1 or more children
- snack preparation and occasional meal preparation
- diaper changing
- feeding babies with a bottle or spoon
- assisting with light cleaning, including picking up children's toys and equipment, organizing, cleaning the bathroom, kitchen and children's areas
Assistant Providers/Teachers are encouraged to use knowledge gained and/or activities learned from coursework.

- Prevention of Shaken Baby Syndrome (in-house)
- Child Abuse & Neglect (independent reading)
- Negative TB Skin Test and Health Exam Signed by Your Physician
- Completion of Entry Level Classes (Independent Study)
- Introduction to the Child Care Profession
- Fundamentals of Infant/Toddler Care
- Introduction to Family Child Care
- Certification in Infant/Child CPR with AED
- Application for Registry Certificate
Compensation is commensurate with training and experience.
